Press
A debut EP about identity, memory, and reclaiming your narrative — told through explosive drums and spacious arrangements.
Across six tracks, Paper People traces the arc of shedding inherited narratives and stepping into a life defined by choice — moving through dislocation, nostalgia, catharsis, and tenderness, anchored by live drums and atmospheric guitars.
Artist Bio
P. Willem is the voice behind Paper People — an alt-rock project built around a single fracture: the person you are versus the person your records say you are.
Where modern life turns identity into documents, profiles, and proof, P. Willem exists to pull the human back out of the file. A drummer who stepped to the front, he writes, produces, programs, and performs the project's core elements — building songs from the kit outward, in the way the rhythm section dictates the emotional temperature of every room it enters.
Paper People's debut EP was captured at Rare Signals in Cambridge, MA with co-producer and engineer Brian Charles, and mastered by Joe Bozzi at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Los Angeles. The sound lives in the tension between cinematic atmosphere and industrial weight. The music is built to be felt in the body first and understood later.
